How to use the habit tracker

Five steps to go from zero to a real streak.

  1. 1

    Create your first habit

Click "New Habit", give it a name, pick a tracking method (yes/no, quantity, duration, or frequency), and set a daily target. Takes 30 seconds.

  2. 2

    Log progress every day

Tap the habit card to mark it done. For quantity or duration habits, use the +/- buttons to log exactly how much you did.

  3. 3

    Watch your streak grow

Every consecutive day you complete a habit, your streak increases. Miss a day and it resets — that tension is what keeps you consistent.

  4. 4

    Review your week

Click "Weekly Review" to see your completion rate for the past 7 days, your most consistent habit, and which ones need attention.

  5. 5

    Hit milestones

At 7, 14, 21, 30, 60, and 100-day streaks, a milestone card appears with a shareable message. Each milestone means your habit is getting stronger.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the habit tracker.

Is this habit tracker really free?

Yes, 100% free. No premium tier, no credit card, no trial that expires. Every feature — streaks, history, templates, weekly review — is free for everyone.

Will my habits be saved if I close the browser?

Yes. All your habits and progress are saved automatically to your browser's local storage. They'll be there when you come back, on the same device and browser.

How many habits should I track?

Start with 1–3 habits. Research on habit formation consistently shows that trying to build too many habits at once reduces success rates for all of them. Add more only once current habits feel automatic.

What tracking methods are available?

Four types: Binary (yes/no done), Quantity (e.g. 8 glasses of water), Duration (e.g. 30 minutes of exercise), and Frequency (e.g. 3 times a day). Choose the one that matches how you naturally think about each habit.

Can I use habit templates to get started faster?

Yes — click the "Templates" button in the habit tracker to load a pre-built set like Morning Routine (5 habits), Study Mode, Deep Work, or Fitness Starter. You can customize any of them after loading.
